Vento's Pizza - East Liberty

If you are ever hanging out around Home Depot in East Liberty, stop over at Vento's Pizza. I worked there for a long time and it is a nice family owned restaurant. Pizza is the most popular, but they also have tons of hoagies, burgers, fries, soup, salad, and even dinners. I recommend trying a few slices of pizza and whatever type of soup they have. The soup is homemade, and you definitely have to try the stuffed pepper soup in the winter!! It goes fast though. The wedding soup and vegetable soup are also very very good! The cheeseburgers are wonderful and the fries are good and not very greasy! They have a really tasty and filling turkey burger too. Everything on the menu is good. People go crazy for the fish sandwiches - they are huge and come with anything you want on them. Todd loves the chicken club hoagies, comes with grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. The most popular hoagie there is probably the chicken club or the cheesesteak. Really, anything there is good.

It is also clean and the people who work there are nice people. It gets really busy around lunch time and you might have to wait 15 minutes for your food, but everything is made to order. They don't deliver, so you have to pick up the food, but it is also a sit down restaurant with plenty of tables and booths.

I went to Vento's for the first time, on Saturday night. I was very disappointed.

The pizza was not pizza place pizza; more like pizza you'd make at home. It was not good. Thick. Chewy. They put parmesan cheese on it to try to give it some taste.

The Italian sub was a soggy mess. It dripped with some kind of "sauce" they put on it.

And the spaghetti was not good. The sauce was just some boiled tomatoes (big pieces). No spices. No taste. Not nearly enough.

They did not have any soup, despite being a sign for bean soup.

Well guess they've gone downhill since I left. I was the pizza maker and I made GOOD pizza. Sorry it was bad.

wow... i dont think you went to the same Vento's i go too. The pizza is what you call 'homemade' im sure if you want "pizza place pizza" i would call pizza hut and be up all nite sick.. like i always used too before i started going to vento's. THe hoagies are AWESOME and the sauce they put on it is the best part.. There soup is really good however, because it is homemade and not frozen like fast food places it runs out fast.. i am usually at vento's 2x a week.. so im sure -SWJ- has no idea wat good food really is...
