I ate here recently for a work function. I will start off by saying that middle eastern food is not my thing. The smells creep me out and everything looks squishy and muddy to me. So I ordered a spinach pie which was good. It was spinach and onions wrapped up in a baked pita bread. I enjoyed it. But the food that everyone else around me ordered looked icky to me. Again, nothing personal, just not my bag. I think everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant itself is a bit strange, it's long and narrow. It feels like a cafeteria and we were there at lunch time so it was really loud. Our waitress wasn't exactly the most helpful person I've ever met. She basically brought us our drinks then food then we never saw her again until it was time to pay. So if you like this type of food I would give it a whirl, I really have no reason to ever go there again.

What was the name of the thing you ordered? Or was it just "spinach pie?" It sounds interesting.

Yes, it was just called spinach pie. It was on their their lunch menu. It wasn't fancy or anything it was really simple and kind of small. Good size for lunch.

Ali Baba is my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Ali Baba's seems to have gone way downhill in recent years. I find the food very bland, and somehow simultaneously dry and oily. It's a mystery.
