So Dunkirk isn't really Buffalo. It's about an hour away, but I didn't want to start a whole new section for a place I will probably never visit again (my apologies, Dunkirkians!).
Nate and I were taken to DeJohn's by his old roommate, Jeremy who lives in Dunkirk. His mother told us it was a nice place, and who doesn't believe someone's mother?
The first thing I noticed when we arrived was the Yuengling placard on the table. Apparently Yuengling is "hitting the big time" lately and seeks to become not only Pittsburgh's most overrated beer, but also the country's.
Nate and I both had eggplant parmesan (the only veggie thing on the menu other than salad). I'm not complaining though - it was good. It wasn't "ohmygod that was awesome" good, but good nonetheless. The sauce seemed a little burnt though, like it had been reheated one too many times. Hopefully not because they scrape the old sauce off other people's plates to reuse it. Then again, if that keeps the costs down, I'm not complaining.
Our total bill for 4 people with 4 good sized meals was less than 30 dollars. You can't beat that with a spork! If I'm ever in Dunkirk again (and like I said, the odds of that are slim to none), I wouldn't mind going here one more time.
My final thoughts? It wasn't total crap. They should put that on a flag outside.
