When Mike and I went to Del's and saw the prices, we decided to share a medium pizza. We ordered a medium mushroom pizza. I am often wary of ordering mushrooms on pizza where I haven't had them before. I don't like the standard tasteless jarred mushrooms because I feel that they ruin an otherwise pleasing meal. Del's mushrooms are nothing like these. They are gourmet. They are marinated in a flavorful concoction of herbs and oils and placed whole on the pizza. Mike and I loved this pizza so much that we literally reminisce about the mushrooms any time we get a pizza with limp ones. I am in no position to review the other foods served at Del's, however, it is worth your while to go just for the pizza.

Like at most other restaurants on Bloomfield Avenue, Pittsburgh's "Little Italy," the food really isn't that great. Lasagne is my test dish, and you really only count in my book if you make it with both bechamel and Bolognese sauces, with parmagiano-reggiano the only cheese. Del's makes it the New Jersey way, mozzarella and ricotta, and it's dull, boring, 1950s Italian American food.
The only places I've found in Pittsburgh that serve good pasta are Lidia's on Smallman Street, and Piccolo Forno in Lawrenceville. I've not had the lasagne yet at Lidia's (there are so many things I want to try each time I go, I haven't gotten around to the lasagne.
Piccolo Forno makes lasagne my way, with bechamel, parmagiano-reggiano, and Bolognese sauce. And they are SO inexpensive for what you get.
