Once again we were given a gift card for a restaurant we would never otherwise consider patronizing. When we got there the hostess opened the door for us and showed us to our table immediately. The challenge for two vegetarians to spend $50 in a steakhouse had begun. I ordered an "appletini" (an apple flavored martini - $7) and a water and Mike ordered a coke ($1.25). They brought us a loaf of pumpernickel bread that was very good but unfortunately no charge. We ordered a bloomin' onion ($5.99), bushman's 'shrooms ($5.99), a side salad ($4.29), and a baked potato ($2.29) to start. Everything was really good but really filling. As we ate, we started to sense our pending defeat. But then we spotted the dessert menu and ordered a hot apple pecan cobbler ($4.99), a chocolate thunder from down under ($4.99) and a coffee ($1.25). With tax and a generous gratuity we had successfully spent $50 at a steakhouse! Seriously though, we liked everything that we ate and the service there was awesome. If one of my meateatin' friends or family suggested Outback, they wouldn't need to convince me. I'd happily go back.

My Daughter is a vegetarian, and enjoys the Blooming Onion and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes at Outback. She also got a free sundae on her birthday. For a chain, this place isn't too bad, the food is decent, and the atmosphere is fun and friendly.
