The other day, my friend asked me to meet her for breakfast at Crepes Parisiennes in Oakland across from Lulu's Noodles. I guess because we thought a breakfast place would be open early, we showed up around 9:45 on a Saturday morning. Strange though it may seem, they don't open until 10am.
The menu is on the wall and there are many many toppings and combinations from which to choose. I quickly found my choice and tried to pay with a credit card. They don't accept credit cards. I had to go to the nearby bank to get money because that was all they accepted. My excitement to try a new breakfast place was a little deflated, but they had already started my order when I got back to pay, so that wasn't so bad I guess.
I sat with my friend at a small table near the window. The seating area is pretty narrow but because they don't overly decorate, it doesn't seem cramped.
In just a few minutes, we had our food and boy was it great! I had ordered nutella and bananas with whipped cream and walnuts. Holy crap! What a great combination! My friend had some salmon in her crepe and she was delighted with hers too.
I'll go again because the food is worth it, but I think it kind of stinks that they open so late and that they don't accept other forms of payment. Crepes Parisiennes, make a few changes! It's always worth it to make things more convenient for your customers.
