Mad Mex – Tofu Tacos

Mad Mex has an excellent new dish on their specials menu. Finally I have a vegan option that is not either a burrito or an enchilada. Not that I am really complaining as they have several options in either category. I have always wanted a taco or three though and I am now getting those tacos.

My biggest hope is that it gets added to their regular menu.

Although I have the Monroeville location listed below, I believe it is available at all Pittsburgh locations. If not all Mad Mex locations in existence.

Don't forget the quesadillas can be vegan-ized as well! But these tacos seriously kicked butt. The apple cider margarita, however, left a little bit to be desired.

What all was on that tofu burrito?

Looks like some bean sprouts, maybe a hunk of avacado, tomato . . . what else?

Looks pretty messy too!

You can make almost anything on the menu vegan/veggie by swapping out tofu or porto for the meat...even the wings!!! The Oakland Mex is very accommodating.

Went to the South Hills Mad Mex yesterday, and this taco was not on the menu (Don't know if it was on the specials menu, I didn't get one of those), although I suppose they would've made it if I had requested one.
