TiffinBites - PICTURES!

I decided to post up the pictures Julie took while we ate at TiffinBites.

Here is the selection of Tiffinboxes. That empty section on the right side is the vegetarian dishes. You may note there is only ONE left. This was taken after Julie and I selected our meals.

Here is a Tiffinbox heated up and ready to eat. That is a Bombay Dream Tiffinbox I believe. That means you are seeing Okra Masala (left), Tarka Daal (Right), and Basmati Rice (Back).

Tiffinbites – A modern twist on a traditional Indian meal

Julie and I originally learned of TiffinBites thanks our favorite travel show, Passport to Europe (with Samantha Brown). A Tiffinbox is a sort of lunch pail used in India by laborers. It is made of metal and has three compartments for different food items. At TiffinBites they sell prepared and refrigerated food in a three layer plastic dish. You pick out the dish you want and then take it up to the counter. You can have it “Take Away” as they say in the United Kingdom, or you can have them heat it up for you and you can eat it on premises. When Julie and I visited TiffinBites they were nearly out of vegetarian food, despite the vegetarian section being fully half of their food selection. So, I am guessing it is popular with the “veg” crowd. I believe I had the "Bombay Dream" and I enjoyed it greatly. I also enjoyed walking in the footsteps of Samantha Brown, that feisty travel vixen.
