Based on Nate's review of this place, Corinne and I went last night, and it was great! We split a large cheese fry, and it was giant and good. We both also had veggie dogz, and they were cooked up and were really tasty. I had horseradish, brown mustard, onions, dill pickle spears, and tomatoes on mine - and the waitress looked at Corinne and said "I feel sorry for you later." :)
They also have an impressive beer selection, but I totally forgot to get a root beer there! I am going to have to go back, because I was reading their menu and they apparently have good root beer.
When you first walk into this place - the AC is blasting and it was a little chilly. It is set up in an old Pizza Hut building and they've saved the booths - so that adds to the flavor of the place, its a nice touch for a bar/restaurant. There's a bunch of crazy crap on the walls of course - mostly beer signs that say things like "Life is too short to drink cheap beer".
If you know where the mini golf place is in Monroeville you'll be able to find this place. It is right across the street almost. Check it out for a good place to hang out and get some good food!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to go to the new D’s in Monroeville. It is in a building that clearly used to be a Pizza Hut. It has many coolers filled with a wide variety of domestic and imported beer. The menu is very similar to the new diverse menu available from the D’s in Regent Square. We only noticed a disparity in the salad section, but it seems the missing salad was a ‘special’ at the new D’s. There is outside seating available. Inside appeared to be non-smoking. I am not sure if that carried over to the bar side or not.
Just like the original D’s in Regent Square (Pittsburgh), there are tons of toppings you can get on your dog. They cut them in half and place them on the grill so it comes off the grill real nice and hot. There are a lot of sandwich options for omnivores, and more then one meal choice for vegans. For a low cost dinner with an excellent choice of beer, D’s is the number one place to go, whether you be going to the Monroeville or Pittsburgh location.
