I had the opportunity to have a meal and a beer at the Sly Fox in Phoenixville, PA. While it isn't in Philadelphia exactly, it is closer to Philly then anywhere else.
The place has a very pleasant bar atmosphere. No noticeable smoke lingering in the air. TVs are plentiful and featuring many professional and college sporting matches. There is a lot of wood used, which gives it a soft feeling. The food all sounded very good as listed on the menu. However, the Sly Fox is highly geared to the more carnivorous individual. There was only one dinner entree that was vegetarian, Pasta Primavera. It was however very tasty. There were several appetizers that were vegetarian, including "Pub Pretzels". Very good with a tasty mustard dipping sauce.
The Sly Fox is also a microbrewery. I sampled two of their beer flavors, Royal Weiss and Pete's Peerless Ale. Both were very good. There are also many more to try covering the gauntlet of traditional beer flavors.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a beer and a snack.
