Aladdin’s – Pocket Sandwich goodness

Normally I only eat the rolled pita sandwiches at Aladdin’s. Not because I don’t like anything else, but because I like them so very much. It has kept me from trying new things from their menu though. This time, I tried a Falafel Pita Pocket and I was very happy with it. It was a pita, opened up pocket style, filled with falafel and salad greens, served with a tahini sauce. It cost about the same as any of the pita rolls and it was much more filling. I will have to experiment with their other menu options next time I visit.

Aladdin's - good falafel

I went to Aladdin's the other night for the first time. I always heard 'ok' things about it from people at work, mostly that it is relatively inexpensive and the food isn't bad. We had the falafel appetizer and although I can't say I've tried falafel from many places, it was the best I've ever had so far. I always eat falafel at work, and it is usually dry and crumbly inside, maybe that is the way it is supposed to be, but the falafel I had was moist and very tasty!!! I also had the "Farrah's favorite Pizza" which is on a pita and has spicy tomato sauce, curried chicken, and some type of onions on it. It was good! And the menu has a lot of things on it which made it really hard to make a decision, but I was very happy with the food and the service.

Aladdin's - Squirrel Hill

I ate here recently with my work buddie, Melissa. Melissa is a waitress here on evenings and weekends so she was excited to share her second home with me. I forget the official name for what I ordered, but it was essentially a falafel wrap. It was good, a little dry. I think I would have liked some ranch dressing for dipping. I'm sure they would have given me something like that if I had asked, but I didn't think about it. I would be willing to go there again.

Aladdin's - Great for a chain restaurant

I like this place, the food is good. It does feel a little chain-like. I believe it is in fact a chain restaurant. It has good food of a Mediterranean nature.

Aladdin's - Squirrel Hill

Good, but still has that “chain restaurant” feel. Lots of veggie options and your meat eating friends will like it too.
