On November 4th, 2007 Julie and I attended a Vegan Dessert Festival held in the Amani Café. I am not a coffee person, so I did not taste the regular fare from the coffee house. I can tell you the staff was very friendly and courteous. The café itself is very neatly decorated. There is artwork on the walls for sale. All of which looks very nice.
The size of café (smallish, but I’ve seen smaller) combined with the ‘loose’ organization of the event made for a very chaotic atmosphere. I should note first, that although it was hosted by the Amani Café, the actual event was run by “Animal Freedom” a vegetarian/animal rights group in Pittsburgh as a fund raiser for a larger Vegetarian/Vegan festival for the Pittsburgh area.
This is a shot of the crowd in the Amani Café.
