When Mike and I went to Del's and saw the prices, we decided to share a medium pizza. We ordered a medium mushroom pizza. I am often wary of ordering mushrooms on pizza where I haven't had them before. I don't like the standard tasteless jarred mushrooms because I feel that they ruin an otherwise pleasing meal. Del's mushrooms are nothing like these. They are gourmet. They are marinated in a flavorful concoction of herbs and oils and placed whole on the pizza. Mike and I loved this pizza so much that we literally reminisce about the mushrooms any time we get a pizza with limp ones. I am in no position to review the other foods served at Del's, however, it is worth your while to go just for the pizza.

I think most of my comments have already been covered by Julie and Nate. I will add that I also liked the cooked carrots, it was something different. I traded my cucumber slices for Jeff's carrots so we each got a little extra of what we wanted on our salads. I will again bring up the portion control. I was sad to see my four little stuffed shells in a bowl of sauce when everyone else around me seemed to be swimming in an excess of food. They were good though. I think the thing about Del's that I enjoyed the most is the ability to cusomize your pasta. I like the option of mixing and matching noodles with different sauce. If nothing else it gives you reasons to go back and keep on trying. Jeff ordered the fettucini alfredo and said that the sauce was a little soupy, but overall not bad. I think Del's is a decent place to go that is a step above fast food, but not so fancy that you feel stupid slopping pasta sauce around. I'd definitely go here again.

For Kim’s birthday bash, I joined the family Klukan at Del’s. The restaurant itself is very nice and spacious. There was a sign saying where you could park for Del’s which included the small adjacent parking lot, a strip of asphalt across the road in a Super market parking lot, and somewhere else that didn’t seem close. In short, I wouldn’t drive here and expect to use their parking if I thought the place would be full.
The atmosphere seemed a little fancy, better then the brick walls of the Spaghetti Warehouse for instance, but not overly so. It is a nice clean place.
I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana with a side of whole wheat pasta and a salad. I’m not one to make issues with a pre dinner salad. I don’t mind iceberg lettuce and some carrots. These carrots were cooked though, that was odd. My main course though I had some issues. For one it was the consistency of mush. It was like the drained the eggplant only to have it suck all the juice out of the sauce. It wasn’t crisp, it was soggy. It tasted ok, but the texture was just off. My whole wheat pasta tasted like spaghetti O’s. I don’t blame the pasta for this, and I’m not saying its really terrible or anything. In fact I just ate my leftover pasta for dinner just before writing this. The sauce on the pasta was just bland, much like spaghetti O’s. I read what I’ve written here, and I feel I am making it seem I hated the place. I didn’t hate it. I liked it, I think I just had high expectations. I am completely willing to go back again and give it another try.

3 of the authors of EatItAndLoveIt recently visited Del's for a birthday celebration for Kim. None of us had ever been there before. About 5 minutes before we left for the restaurant, I read some pretty harsh reviews of the place online. All of the reviews were from 2002, so I hoped that they had improved since then.
Del's parking lot is quite small, but the restaurant itself is nice. It is mid-scale Italian dining, but not too fancy that you would feel under dressed in a pair of jeans.
They had a pretty expansive menu, with lots of different combinations to mix and match. You could also upgrade to whole wheat pasta for a dollar extra, which I really liked. I decided on the Mediterranean Pasta (with whole wheat pasta), which was excellent. My side salad left a little to be desired though - mostly iceberg lettuce and strangely cooked carrot strips.
The one thing I do take issue with Del's is their portion sizes - my pasta bowl was what I expected. I had enough to take home for a small meal later on. My dad's lasagna, on the other hand, was large enough to feed a family of four. I'm not exaggerating. Then Kim's dish looked to be about a quarter of the size of everyone else's.
Despite the miniature parking lot and the portion issues, I had a positive experience at Del's and I would go back. They gave us about 29 coupons for 20% off a meal, so why not?
