LuLu's Noodles - Revisited

It has been a long time since I have last eaten at LuLu's Noodles - probably over a year, in fact. Yesterday, I suddenly had a hankering for the place and Nate agreed to get dinner there with me, despite having called it his "least favorite place to eat" in the past.

My experience was not a particularly enjoyable one. First off, I ordered the Ma Po Tofu without pork, and clarified the "no pork" portion of the order twice with my waitress. When the food came out, there was pork in it. The waitress pleasantly told us, "But Ma Po Tofu comes with pork!" Yeah, I know that.

They brought me out a new plate, but by that time I was more than a little annoyed. I had just come from the dentist, so that probably added to my irritability. Anyways, I thought my dish sucked, to be quite blunt. The consistency of the tofu was awful and resembled undercooked chicken. My food was hot, bland, and pretty boring. I would have preferred a noodle dish (after all it is called LuLu's NOODLES for a reason), so I don't know why I ordered that. I couldn't make a decision though, so I hastily chose the Ma Po Tofu. I used to always get the Pan Fried Noodles, but since they are made with egg noodles, I won't be getting that anymore. Sigh.

In conclusion, I probably won't be heading back to LuLu's again, unless I am invited there as part of a group event. Then I would just be going to be polite.

Lulu's Noodles & Yum Wok - I don't get it...

This place is my least favorite place to eat. I generally get vegetarian fried rice. When I want Chinese food, I want vegetables and faux-meat options. Lulu’s doesn’t have that. It's all noodles with other junk. Its just not what I want I guess.

LuLu's Noodles - Oakland

LuLu's is my favorite place for Chinese/Asian/whatever food. Their vegetable lo mein rocks. It isn't slimy and gross like most places. I would eat here all the time if it wasn't for the annoying guys who sit at the entrance begging for change. (As the new Pittsburgh slogan goes, giving change won't change anything!) The atmosphere is kind of cafeteria style, but I like it nonetheless.

LuLu's Noodles - Oakland

Good place to take a crowd, tasty but service is slow and they tend to bring out everyone’s dishes at different times, so the first person could be done before the last person gets their meal.
